I’m three weeks behind on this news. My apologies!

Erin Coleman, the Channel 2 Action News anchor at 4 p.m., had a son last month. Her son weighed in at 7 pounds 8 ounces at birth.

The boy is the first child for Erin and her husband.

She joined the station five years ago this month.

“Yes, it’s hard to believe the baby will be a month old on Sunday!” she wrote me early this morning. “Not sure of the exact date I’m coming back–probably the last week of December, but again, not sure.”

In early October on  her public Facebook page, she posted:

10 days into this mommy thing, and I think I’m starting to get the hang of it. There are some definite things I need to work on — like changing a diaper much, much faster, but I think he’s being as patient with me as possible

In other Channel 2 news, weekend anchor Craig Lucie has taken John Bachman‘s 4 p.m. anchoring job.

Bachman in August left for a lead anchor job in Jacksonville.

Lucie joined WSB-TV in 2011. Here’s his note to me:

Even though it’s an ‘anchor’ position, I’ll be reporting everyday and turning stories for the 4,5 and 6pm so I’ll be out in the field and enterprising stories daily. I also love covering the major, breaking news stories so I hope to travel when those happen like I have for the Boston bombings and tornadoes in Arkansas and Alabama. We are also rapidly growing on the digital side as you know so I’ll be on your smartphone everyday to inform Atlantans of what’s going here and around the world.
